1. Excessive overtime
Within the West, people work from 9am to 5pm, Monday to tuesday. They come and leave essentially from the dot, and overtime was rare, if you don’t entirely uncommon. If people are asked working overtime, they’re paid properly or can will not exercise entirely.
In Asia, the mentality is very different. We work regular overtime, with several hours that start any moment between 7am and 10am and finish any moment from 6pm to 10pm (or even afterwards). Focusing on Saturday is very typical in some companies, while working on Sunday is not unthinkable either. Asia was learn for its “996” program, in which workers are expected to function from 9am to 9pm, six era a week.
